Could be wrong but believe this must have been either 10GB or 100 GB sold as 10 MB. In any case this was enough for my entire 1-month stay. I later told that story in a hostel and other travelers confirmed having received the same message: in Cape Verde, a gigabyte is same as megabyte. This seems surprising at first, but isn’t after you travel more and Africa and grasp better feeling about the meaning of mathematics and numbers there. They do not mean what we think. I can confirm what you said about how they view counting, lived through the same thing. Happy to hear it was enough for a whole month !
